The Goat Island Boat Club, whose members reside around the shores of beautiful Lake Marion, has sponsored a merit scholarship program since 2008 to provide financial assistance to high school seniors residing in the counties surrounding the lakes and to SC college students majoring in environmentally focused areas.  

For 2020, the Board of Directors has approved a $3000 scholarship award payable to the financial aid office of the academic institution in the name of the winner.
